Welcome to a journey true Europe last wildernes
************************************************

We are starting in Östersund a very popular city among Norwegians. Østersund is, a great city to shoop in, to go sightsing or just look around a little. If you are lucky you might meet the Great lake monster ?, Østersund have, something for everyone, you can buy everything from food to tools. Why not take a drink in one of the night club's ? Why not take a little time to visit, Frøsøn ?, a little island in the midle of Østersund where you allso will find a zoo. Bus'es you find in the center of Østersund. In the summer there are often dance in the park bye the lake. In the winter you can trye ice fishing on the lake. Well, after we have been on a sightsing in Østersund, there is time to move on. Lets get ready to a journey in to The Europe Last Wildernes...
To go further we have 2 choices, 1 the Inlands road
, or 2, Indlandsbanen. Indlandsbanen is a railroad track that goes true the entier North Sweden.
Our choice is:
Indlandsbanen .

I can recomend the railroad, i have been there 2 years on a row. But remember dont use the track if you, are in a hurry. Because the train dont always follow the time 100%. But you will meet many suprises true the, journey. If you are lucky you migtht, see bear, moose or reindeer. So dont, forget your camera and film.

One thing i can promise you...
you will see reindeer. Main business in, North Sweden are reindeer hold. On your journey you will be going through countys like, Lappland & Jamtland.

Did you know that Jamtland has its own flag ?, oh yes they have. Its green, blue and, white. Green as the grass, blue as the skie and white as the mountains it stand for. Jamtland have once in the history been a part of Norway and now some people want, to go back to Norway.

This photo shows sunrice in Gällivare.
The lake you se is called Nuolajärvi.
In this lake you can fish but its expensive, because the fish in this lake is set out and are, BIG !
And its about 5 minutes with buss from, Gällivare,or why not take walk ?,its not far.

Photo shows:
A fountain in the Svan park.
This park you find in a place called Malberget
About 20 minutes with buss from Gällivare.
Up here you can take a trip back to the past, in Kåkstan or play golf in worlds northest,
golf course.
Her yo allso find shoping senter, resturant's, and you can look at The svan park with, animal And this fountain.
This fountain is built up with,
rocks from the entier world. It's worth the trip.

Picture shows Polcirkelen, (The Arctic circle)

If you take the railroad all the way up to the end you will pass the Arctic circle. A memory for life. Dont forget to put a film in your camera. If you are lucky with the weather you might see the Midnight sun.

From the Arctic circle you allso can see to the Norwegian border, but that is, depending on the weather.
Next stop is a small town called Jokkmokk, a great place to stop for a day or to. I can recomend Notuden Camping if you will stay some days. Notudden Camping have free fishing for its guests and a large outdoor swimming pool.

Frome Jokkmokk you can go Kvikkjokk, Kvikkjokk is up in the mountains. Its beutyfull up in the mountains but listen to people that knows the mountains. You can fish up there or go sigthsing on your own.
Remember to get a good map, you can buy it in Jokkmokk or Kvikkjokk.

But what ever you do, DONT go up in the mountains without a good map! Dont let the trip become a nightmare but a nice memory. But we are moving on frome Jokkmokk to Gallivare. Gallivare is the end of the Inlandstrack. Since you are passing true some nice spots on your journey it might bee a good, idea to get some information before you go. A book that is about inlandstrack is i good investment it cost 195,- sek. You can get the book on the train if you want. Moscito...vow the moscito is big so get something against it. ( i have a feeling that the moscito was the model for Boeing 737).

The price one way with Inlandsbanan was 256,- sek.
This price example was from Østersund to Gallivare.

Stora sjøfallet...
But we are not true yeat! We are going to a place called Kaitum, and the Kaitum lake and the Kaitum, river. But to go to Kaitum river, i will recomend airplain. It is very long way to walk so our choice became seaplain,

Fiskflyg
is the name of a company that, are taking tourists into the wildernes. They have loong experience and good, pilots. With them you are safe. It's cost about 1800,- sek to hire a plain. But then you have the entier plain by your self.

We recomend that you get a river report, before you get into your canoe. Watch out for the waterfalls, they are coming fast..

Kaitum river is a beutifull river but,can be dangerous to. Remember that you are in the wildernes now, and can be dificoult to, get help.

The weather are another thing you should watch up for. It can be sunshine to storm and heavy rain almoust at the same time. If you are using a canoe remeber to stay close to the shore and use lifepreserver. The weather don't care who you are. You will be seeing bear, reindeer and moose on your trip if you are lucky. But don't do anything that can disturb them, leave them alone and you will have a great adventure ahead of you. Why not take a stop at the Fishing Camp Tjuonajokk ? A great place called the eldorado of fly fishing. There you can take a lunch and a limonade, and get new suplies for further journey. The people on Tjuonajokk is just great They was the ones that helped us to contact Fiskflyg when our acident happend. If you have any questions about Tjuonajokk, why not send a E-mail to them ?

E-mail Tjuonajokk.
Pople on Tjuonajokk also know a lot about the wildernes and the river. So why not ask them if you vounder about somthing ? They will be happy to help you.

If you have any questions or coment just send me a e-mail

Have fun & a nice trip.
